Sometimes called Emperor’s Blue Bamboo or White Bamboo, Tropical Blue Bamboo is a rare but popular medium-tight clumping bamboo from Southern China. It features light green leaves and nicely spaced thin-walled culms that develop a spectacular powder-like, white waxy bloom that gives them a pale blue appearance.
Tropical Blue Bamboo is cold hard to 20°F and tolerates wind, rain and dry conditions (with irrigation) while remaining beautiful. It is most spectacular as an ornamental or as a dense privacy hedge.
